Sousdei France is a project created by a team of Cambodian medical students and it's aim is to send young French speaking Cambodian externs to do observational internships in french hospitals. This will help them grasp new elements linked to their new work environment as well as strengthen their existing knowledge. This experience will also help them choose their medical specialty.
Every year, a lot of French medical students have the opportunity to do observational internships in cambodian hospitals. Cambodian students do not have the opportunity to go to France or elsewhere to do the same unfortunately. Unhappy with this observation, Sousdei France as well as forica want to reduce the inequalities and offer these students the opportunities they deserve.
Sousdei France is an educational project, since it's aim is to train medical students and help them choose their medical specialty. But it's also a humanitarian project since it will have a direct positive impact on the medical situation in Cambodia, which is suffering from a great lack of doctors. This project also participates in Cambodia's general development since once their studies are completed, the students wish to practice medicine in their country, and often their home province.

What's going to happen next ?
4th and 6th year medical Students of the University of Health Sciences of Phnom Penh will do observational internships of one or two months in September or October 2019 in hospitals all over France.
But, these Cambodian students do not have sufficient means to cover all the costs linked to their stay and travel to France. Thus, we are calling upon you to help with the financial burden of the plane tickets ! We are also looking for host families working in the medical field willing to greet students in their home.
